21 Day Fix Workout Review: Weight Loss in 21 Days?

By | January 8, 2014

21 day fix workout review 21 Day Fix workout review… Can you really lose 15 pounds in only 21 days?

In the last year, Beachbody has come out with short and intense workouts to help people lose weight.

First with Focus T25 which was more of a cardio based workout and every workout is only 25 minutes.

Later, P90X3 was released which offers more of a well rounded workout and every workout is only 30 minutes.

Both Focus T25 and P90X3 offer a modifier to follow so that anyone can complete the workout from beginner to advanced.

The 21 Day Fix workout, however, is changing the rules a bit and offering something new for those who want a really short workout without being super intense.

Additionally, the 21 Day Fix wasn’t created with a regular Beachbody Trainer like Tony Horton, Shaun T, or Chalene Johnson… Instead a whole new fitness expert was consulted.

The new, 21 Day workout was created by Autumn Calabrese. Let’s learn more about her below:

In this 21 Day Fix workout review, you’ll learn:

  • What makes it different from other Beachbody workout programs.
  • The results people have had with the 21 Day Fix.
  • Frequently Asked Questions about the 21 Day Fix program.
  • And Who the 21 Day Fix workout by Autumn Calabrese is for.

21 Day Fix Workout Review: What Makes It Different?

1. The Trainer

21 Day Fix Creator: Autumn Calabrese

21 Day Fix Creator: Autumn Calabrese

As mentioned earlier, the 21 Day Fix workout was created by a whole new trainer to Beachbody, Autumn Calabrese.

While all Fitness Trainers focus on exercise and eating right, everyone accomplishes those goals a little differently.

While Tony Horton, Shaun T, and the other Beachbody fitness trainers have been providing an amazing insight to the fitness world… there’s nothing wrong with bringing in someone new.

In this 21 Day Fix workout review, you’ll soon see what makes it different from other workouts.

2. The Workout Style

Shaun T loves to focus on cardio workouts like Insanity, Insanity: Asylum, Focus T25, and many others.

Tony Horton loves providing a total body workout with both cardio and resistance training.

Both are great styles to help anyone lose weight but for some people those workouts can be a little much.

While the new Focus T25 and P90X3 workouts offer a modifier, they can still be a little much for a beginner.

Here’s what the 21 Day Fix workouts offer:

  • The 21 Day Fix aims to be challenging but not impossible for a begginer.
  • The 21 Day Fix workout offers both cardio and resistance workouts.
  • The 21 Day Fix offers several workouts so that you don’t get bored doing the same few workouts.
  • The 21 Day Fix program is a short 30 minutes for every workout.
  • And the best part of all, the 21 Day Fix program is only for 21 days!

The 21 Day Fix includes 30 minute workouts for 7 days, that you repeat for 3 weeks. The workouts include upper body, legs, cardio, cardio with light weights, Pilates, and yoga.

Much like Tony Horton, the 21 Day Fix by Autumn Calabrese, offers several different workout styles to work every part of your body.

3. The Nutrition Plan

We can’t have a complete 21 Day Fix workout review without covering the most important part of the whole weight loss program.

It’s been estimated that your weight loss results is determined largely by what you eat… some say your results depend on 70 to 80% nutrition and the rest exercise.

Knowing that nutrition is important, all Beachbody fitness programs have relied heavily on counting calories and preparing meals.

In the 21 Day Fix all the counting calories is forgotten.

Instead, the 21 Day Fix program comes with 13 different containers in which you will measure out your food servings for the day and a nutrition guidebook that explains it all simply and easily.

The basic idea is simple, if it fits in your food container, then you can eat it :)

There’s no point counting, no calorie counting, no counting of carbs or fats.

The reason the containers are so important is because they help with portion control…. Even if people eat healthy, they can still be overweight if they eat too much.

The 21 Day Fix Program will ensure you get the right amount of food and even provide healthy recipes for you to try out.

21 Day Fix Workout Review: Workout Results

It doesn’t matter how great this 21 Day Fix workout review is written, at the end of the day it’s about getting results.

All Beachbody fitness programs will get you results when you follow the program… the problem is in following the nutrition guide.

Personally, I can do the workout easily but the nutrition is always where I trip up and I think the containers that come with the 21 Day Fix Program will be a huge benefit for anyone looking to lose weight.

Check out the kind of results people got from following the 21 Day Fix from Autumn Calabrese:

Simply amazing!… I think the best part of the 21 Day Fix workout reviews above is that it wasn’t about doing some extreme workout program.

The 21 Day Fix program does not promise you to get ripped in only 90 days or to get in the best shape of your life in only 60 days.

The 21 Day Fix is about losing weight the healthy way…. easy to follow exercises and using portion control with healthy meals.

Everyone knows that you can lose weight by eating less but the problem with ONLY eating less is that you’ll lose muscle mass and definition in your body.

Sure, you lost weight but you won’t look too healthy. And that’s where the 30 minute exercises from the 21 Day Fix comes in.

Now you can be eating less and healthy… Plus, you won’t loss any muscle mass and possibly gain a nice definition to your body in only 21 days!

  1. Mallorey

Unfortunately, when you get the program it says that you will need a set of dumbbells and resistance bands. It would be nice for it to state that on teambeachbody.com when we buy so that we can be ready to go when it comes in the mail!

    1. Coach Julio Diaz Post author

That is true Mallorey. You can use either the dumbbells or resistance. You don’t need both. I would recommend dumbbells over resistance because they will allow you to move more freely over the resistance bands. I updated the article above so that people know they need equipment. Thanks for the info.

  2. Chetla J

Do you know what would happen if you chose not to use the containers and continued to count calories but still did the work outs as instructed? I just got my kit and it has a page that helps you figure out your calorie target, mine is 1399 but I’ve been eating 1270 so wouldn’t I lose more weight counting calories and doing the workouts?

    1. Coach Julio Diaz Post author

Hi Chetla J, It’s not just about counting calories. The 21 Day Fix Program is about getting the right amount of Carbs, Fats, and Proteins. While figuring out how many calories you need to take in is important, that’s not the whole story. To better see results, stick to using the containers as directed. Additionally, don’t worry if you end up gaining a few pounds during the first week or two. This is normal and weight loss will follow after some initial weight gain. Thanks for your question.

      Hi Laura,
If you’re new to working out, I recommend sticking to the 30 minutes only. If you already workout regularly and don’t think the 30 minutes is much of challenge for you, then you can go to the gym as well. If a few times a week would work nice. Additionally, if you feel too tired to workout or find yourself having trouble getting through a workout, then pull back on your gym workouts.
