P90X Legs & Back: With a Weighted Vest?
Doing the same thing over and over will not get anyone results… You can run for miles but sooner or later your body will reach a plateau and what was once the best love handle exercises, are just exercises that your body is used to…
This can be very discouraging for anyone looking to lose tummy fat fast or just to look good.
Luckily we can change up our workout in order to start getting rid of stomach fat again…
We can increase reps but this also means taking up more time.
Another solution would be to Increase the Intensity of your love handles workouts…
I found an amazing way to increase the intensity of the P90X Legs & Back without using dumbbells….
This year I am working through a third round of P90x and have been looking for new ways to increase intensity in many of the workouts.
As you may have read from an earlier post, I am working to become a fire fighter so I’m looking for some fast results.
While looking into becoming a fire fighter I discovered that I would need to be able to wear a 50lb vest to simulate wearing firefighting gear.
Knowing this I I bought an amazing vest and later discovered I could use it for P90X Legs & Back….
The vest I purchased (see image above) is called ZFO-80lbs Adjustable Weighted Vest (weights included).
The picture above is with the vest weighted at 40lbs. I’m working up to 80lbs.
Don’t think you also need to get an 80lb vest. I picked a larger size because that’s what I need to meet my goal of becoming a firefighter. Your goal of course may be different than mine.
Additionally, I’ve only used it for half of the Legs & Back routine. Yes, even when I’m going through the pull-up sequence. Trust me, once you take the weighted vest off for the second half, your body will be happy and be much easier.
Safety notes: Be careful while wearing a vest. I can’t say that enough. Have something close like a chair in case you lose your balance. Also, keep a straight back and try not to bend over. Lifting with legs is key…. Like Tony says, if your legs start to get shaky, don’t be a hero. Do as much as you can and next time you’ll do more.
How are you going to meet your fitness goals? If nothing else look for a new workout to help you start seeing results again. Push past the plateau and get fit.
Good luck…
