Your container allowance per day is calculated based on your weight and the average of 400 calories burned per 21 Day Fix workout.  Then you are given a range you need to stay in.

For example, if you end being between the 1,200 to 1,499 calorie range. That gives you 3 green (veggies), 2 purple (fruits), 4 Red (protein) 2 Yellow (starchy carbs), 1 Blue (nuts, etc), 1 Orange (nuts and dressings), 2 spoons (nut butters, olive oil) for the day.

Additionally, you are given a list of the foods that you can place into each container.

While you can eat from the containers, you can also put everything onto a plate once you have measured out everything in your container 😉

What can I drink while on the 21 Day Fix?

You have the option to drink milk, soy milk, almond milk, coconut water, coconut milk and fruit juices but you have to sub out a yellow container and they are only allowed 3 times per week.

I would try getting the most nutrition possible… For example, lean meat taco (soft corn) with cheese, lettuce, and salsa (2 tacos) is 1 yellow, 1 red, 1 green and 1 blue… That’s much more worth it :)

    1. Hi Jessica. As of right now, you can’t order the containers separately. There has been talk about selling them separately but there is no set date. For now, you need to order the containers and workouts together.

  1. Been on the diet 7 days lost 6.6 pounds on the three day diet but now I am dropping very little every day. I know do not weigh yourself everyday–but I am concerned by the little weight loss now that I am eating more food–following to a tee.

    Really pleased as a whole–question husband is also doing, lost very little but is not eating all the portions-do you need to eat the exact portions everyday?

    1. Hi Audrey, 6.6 pounds is a amazing amount of weight to lose in only 3 days. Congrats! I know what you mean about weighing yourself everyday, I do the same thing. Try not to of course and see how much you do lose at the end of the week. Losing 2-3 pounds a week is still great results. Remember, your body is still rearranging itself to be more toned and look better. While the scale may not budge much, you will see results in your before and after pics. And, muscle does weigh more than fat. Additionally, you may even see some weight gain between the first and second week because when you’re new to strength training or changing your fitness routine, your muscles often store water to protect themselves and to aid in recovery. Once you get used to the workouts, some of the water will shed and you’ll drop weight. So, Keep Doing What You’re Doing. You’ll Get Results!

      And for your husband, have him eat as close as possible to the portions because he could have negative consequences from eating too little. Often, when a person eats too little for too long, their metabolism will begin to slow down which means slower weight loss now and easier weight gain when he starts eating normal.

  2. Are there any sweeteners allowed? I read you could have 1 to 2 tsp. of either pure maple syrup, agave syrup, stevia, honey, etc.??

    1. Hi Gail, Yes.. page 15 of the Nutrition Plan. 1-2 tsp of raw sugar, honey, molasses, maple syrup, agave syrup, and stevia. You can have as much cinnamon, lemon, pumpkin spice, and nutmeg you want. There are also a few recipes on pages 60-63 if you’re interested in treats.
